Introducing ADHD coaching with Andy Patrick

Published 28 October 2026 · by Dr David Crocker, Founder & Clinical Director

Andy Patrick, ADHD coach

Most of daily life with ADHD happens between appointments: the morning that falls apart, the email that never gets sent, the project that stalls at the first step. From Thursday 5 November, Caledonian Psychiatry is offering one-to-one ADHD coaching for exactly that space, with Andy Patrick, an experienced ADHD and behaviour-change coach contracted to the practice.

“Andy is a fantastic human being, one of the warmest and most genuine people I know. He meets everyone with patience and not a trace of judgement, and he brings oodles of experience: fifteen years and more than 15,000 coaching sessions. So much of life with ADHD happens in the ordinary hours between appointments, and I am genuinely delighted that people can now work on that with someone as kind and as skilled as Andy. I am very proud to welcome him to the practice.”

What coaching works on

Coaching is practical and forward-looking. Each session starts from what is actually happening in your week, and over time the work usually covers getting started on tasks, routines, planning and time, organisation, procrastination and motivation, and follow-through. Sessions are calm, structured and free of judgement. The aim is not to make you operate like everyone else; it is to build reliable systems around how your attention and motivation actually work.

How it works

You do not need to be a patient of the practice to book, and coaching does not require a psychiatric assessment with us.

How coaching fits with your care

Coaching is non-clinical. It does not include diagnosis, prescribing or medical treatment, and it sits outside our Healthcare Improvement Scotland registration, which covers the psychiatric services our doctors provide. It is entirely optional: it is never a condition of psychiatric care at the practice, and declining it changes nothing about your treatment. Your coach cannot see your clinical record, and information passes between your coach and your psychiatrist only with your explicit consent.

Andy is contracted to the practice, and the practice receives part of each coaching fee. You are free to work with any coach; our FAQs also list an independent alternative.

You can read more about Andy, see his available times and book a free intro call on the ADHD coaching page, or see coaching on our fee schedule.
